Apologies for the lack of outfit posts. It’s simply been too cold. I plan to step up my game this week and get my ass out in the cold and take some pictures for you but in the mean time…. Ombre hair!
Is anyone else obsessing over this as much as me?! I really want to do it but I’m scared of bleaching my hair again. It ruined my hair texture but I used to be rather blonde….
This was taken on vacation with Cyrena from Freak deluxe years ago!
I’m asking for trouble because you can only really commit one hair sin at a time. My biggest sin is heat and as we all know heat and bleach do not a happy head of hair make!
Emmyloukay says
Do not do this. Your hair will break at the root!! I've been there.. xxx
Heslei Kemmerich says
Well, I think that you'll never know how is gonna be until you try it.
Annabel says
You should stay black. Looks more feminine and way more sexy!
The bleached hair kind of looks fake. I would rather see you with the darker hair.
May says
I'm dying to do this to my hair too! I think the damage won't be so bad though since it's mainly at the bottom the blond parts.
Jacquie says
Don't bleach it! Maybe try 'lifting' the colour at your tips to more of a brown colour – so it looks realistically sunkissed…
i'm thinking of doing this to my hair, even though it's natural, i've seen it look cool on others.
xx
Valentine says
I wouldn't recommend bleaching in winter, with the cold and wind, you hair will be even more fragilised… π
Also I really like your brown hair… Very chic!

HA! i've got ombre hair at them moment but only because i can't afford to get my hair done! feels weird that having roots are suddenly now in fashion. i'll roll with it though, if it saves me an extra couple of months because i get it done.

Im thinking about do it too. But I was black for looong time and im scared too. M.

I looove ombre hair!It can always look natural for us brunettes but the best you can easily make it at home:)
If the tone is half orange after bleaching and you don't like you can always use those colors without ammonia in a blonde more gray, passing the product with a brush in the discolored place and another piece in its original tone continuously for a few minutes … problem solved and nourished hair!
I did it and I do not regret, I will not say I was not with the ends of my hair a little bit damage but with a nourishing serum l'oreal or another not too expensive and a hair mask in bath once a week problem solved in no time!but it's nothing I didn't before in my everyday hair care…
I thing you could start with a little to try and see, it could be gorgeous…it's your choice:)
Emily says
I really love ombre hair, I'd love to try it but like my fringe too much, and I think it'd look pretty awful with a fringe!

In my opinion, this trend is dying. It only looks good if you do a really subtle blond in the ends. Stick with natural!

I love your blog π

well, why don't you start with some few highlights first? I think the dark hair suit you more..
Loobs says
This is such a gorgeous look, I actually have that same SJP photo saved as inspiration…But I can't imagine you with this hair, your dark hair really suits you. I see this as more of a summer "sun bleached" style too. Maybe try with a light brown on the ends first?

I did it! With a highlighting kit. A little less severe than bleaching it completely but still a lot of damage… but to be honest. It was sooo worth it! I love my ombre hair :] and I also curl it often haha. I just use a lot of heat protectants and hair therapy product.
Barbarella says
I'm also in love with that kind of hair, but I think that if I finally dare to do it on my own it would be on Summer (I have to add that my hair is very dark). In my opinion, you look more elegant and classy with your dark hair and I think that you should keep it that way until the wedding. π Maybe you can change it for the honeymoon π
Vida says
I've been obsessing over doing this since last summer! But always chicken out last minute…I plan on committing to doing so this coming summer. But rather going that blond and risk damaging the hair by bleaching, you should do an ombre that's light brown…and I don't know if it's available to you out there, but try using this italian brand– Tocco Magico Color-Ton. They have superb dyes that makes the hair feel great and moisturized right after using it. I've been using it for a year now, and couldn't be more satisfied π
Ramona says
I would keep your hair the way it is! Looks great and I think that suits you better and looks more natural!

if you weren't comfortable with your hair when you bleached it before, why do it again? I got highlights once and each strand of higlighted hair broke off, you would never know I had them! Unless you take really goooooood care of your hair, then go for it. I like this look, you could probably pull it off with extentions. Good luck π
RaindropsofSapphire says
I've been lacking in the outfit department too because of the weather! The ombre look is nice but it's so harsh on the hair, it ruins it like straw π
Lainey says
I love how beautiful your hair looks now, but I too have been obsessing over doing this to my hair for months now. I dunno, maybe I should just bite the bullet and do it at least once.
Kim says
I actually love this trend, have been thinking about doing this myself… but probably won't since my hair is already damaged. Only one sin at a time! π

since you wear hair pieces, couldyou maybe dye those blonde and create the look that way? i had this look once but with red instead of the light brown/blonde. It didnt dry my hair our and looked bright against the dark brown. xoxo

I super like the violet dress worn by the woman on the blog. I like violet because of its simplicity, yet it rocks.
